Termisol Termica is a Founding partner of the EiiF, European Industrial Insulation Foundation.
We can proudly say that Termisol Termica, our Parent Company, has been the first Italian Insulation company to have joined the Foundation. This is a concrete evidence of our commitment thwards the Environmental protection.
The EiiF is an independent – no profit organization founded in 2009 and registered in Switzerland. It was founded by companies of the Insulation sector in order to establish the use of of industrial insulation as a means of achieving energy and economic sustainability.
Scientific studies have demonstrate that proper industrial insulation, noise reduction and fire control systems are the best solutions to increase environmental sustainability, reduce waste and save energy. Expert experiences show that in European industrial plants about 10% of the equipment is not properly insulated – as they are covered with damaged insulation or or undersized insulation. Poor insulation has as a result an unnecessary heat loss, personnel injuries’s risk and considerable CO2 input as well as waste of money. Furthermore the price of energy on the European and international market is constantly increasing and expected to grow even further in the coming years. Additional costs for CO2 emission allowances (20-20-20) will accelerate this trend and further increase the saving potential. In the past energy efficiency would not have made a big difference but today it represents a significant saving. It is estimated that a new and efficient insulation – made with a “cost-effective level” – can avoid 66% of heat loss with considerable saving of energy costs. This type of industrial insulation investment:
- has a payback time of less than 1 year
- leads to about 3.5 billion euros annual savings (calculated on current market prices)
- leads to a reduction of CO2 emissions equivalent to 18 million middle class cars (each running 12,500 KM per year)
The study, commissioned from the Eiif, was conducted in 2012 from Ecofys, leading consultancy agency in renewable energy and energy efficiency that has worked for years for public and corporate organisations and companies.
Through a TIPCHECK – Thermal Energy Audit – performed by our TIPCHECK engineers you can immediately identify, even while the system is running, any leakage and heat loss and receive a personalized study to start saving. The aim of the TIPCHECK programme established by the European Industrial Insulation Foundation (EiiF) is to provide industry with a standardised, high quality thermal energy audit tool. TIPCHECKs quantify the amount of energy and money an industrial facility is losing with its current insulation system (including uninsulated parts).
A TIPCHECK is:
- a Thermal energy audit
- performed by certified TIPCHECK engineers
- quality-controlled by EiiF
- easily integrated with Energy Management Systems, e. g. ISO 50001
TIPCHECKs evaluate the insulation systems of existing facilities, planned projects or retrofi ts and demonstrate how more efficient insulation could:
- Save energy
- Save money
- Contribute to a cleaner environment through reduced CO2 emissions
- identify process efficiency improvements
- Safety risks to personnel
An amazing superhero repairs any kind of energy loss with considerable money savings and environmental benefits
